Update on Equity Distribution Eligibility Notices

The Equity Distribution Committee is continuing to revise initial eligibility determinations to correct errors in the information received from American.  As you were previously advised, the data we received regarding years of service with AA in a TWU represented craft/class was not accurate for approximately 4,700 employees.  Revised notices of eligibility with correct years of service information are being sent to all of the affected employees by First Class Mail on September 20, 2013.

Additionally, we have recently learned that the information we received regarding employee participation in AA health insurance did not include months of participation in a HMO and had other omissions.  This affected about 2,220 employees.  We received new information from the Company this week.  That new information will have to be analyzed and the eligibility notices for those employees will have to be revised.  It is anticipated that the analysis will be completed by the end of next week (September 27) and that revised eligibility notices will be sent to those affected employees shortly after that.

TWU represented employees who believe that the original eligibility notices they received had incorrect information regarding their years of service with AA in a TWU represented craft/class and/or their participation in an AA health insurance plan should notify the Equity Distribution Committee if they do not receive a corrected eligibility notice by October 15, 2013.  TWU represented employees whose eligibility notices did not contain the errors described here will not receive new notices.  Please keep informed by visiting our website, aa.twu.org
